Zen-Master Tech Blogging Tips
Make sure to blog on a regular basis. Don’t be like other beginning bloggers who don’t update their blog frequently after starting it. This mistake will cost you readers. Your readers will want new content to keep them interested and will forget about your blog if they are waiting for new material. At a minimum, try to post a new blog every week. In addition, send out frequent emails updating your readers on your content.
Resist all temptation to copy from research articles, other blogs or anything else that you come across that is written by someone else. Plagiarism is taken seriously, and if you do plagiarize you are ruining your reputation. Finding success in a blog does not require you to write like a professional. The important thing you need to have is passion about the things that you are writing.
Don’t let blogging consume you; continue doing other activities not related to blog posting. Not allowing yourself a break now and then can result in burnout and fatigue. Make time to go for a walk, visit with friends or just take a five minute break. The time you take aside from working on your blog will improve the quality of time that you do spend on it.
Your blog topics should always have a message with content that focuses on appealing to reader interests. Everyone has to do regular day-to-day chores like washing dishes and vacuuming. Whether your writing is broadly covering a topic or is covering a specific, narrow point, it should always be written in a unique manner. Pick topics that people will be intrigued by. Your goal in blogging, after all, is to draw people to your site.
Make your blog different to everything else that is out there. Readership will be higher for a blog with unique content. Providing information that is difficult for people to find will also draw readers. Write about a hobby or experience that is different. Provide specifics of how widgets or whatever are made. You need to let the reader have a good reason to visit your blog.
Make sure to post content regularly to keep your readers coming in. Great blogs generally default to posting at least once a week at minimum. It can help to write content to least a few weeks ahead of time before creating your blog, and then dole it out consistently as you think of more in order to maintain a buffer. This helps fill the gaps if you find you are having trouble coming up with something worthwhile to post about.
